Zespo Berberine Complex is a 1,200 mg per serving botanical blend in 120 vegetarian capsules: two capsules a day, 60 servings. Here is what each ingredient is and how to read the label.
The label, per serving (2 capsules)
- Berberine HCl (from Berberis aristata): 700 mg
- Milk thistle extract, 80% silymarin: 300 mg
- Turmeric extract: 100 mg
- Ceylon cinnamon: 90 mg
- Black pepper: 10 mg
Total: 1,200 mg per serving. Other ingredients: vegetable cellulose capsule.
What each ingredient is
Berberine HCl is an alkaloid extracted from plants such as Berberis aristata (Indian barberry). It is the largest amount in this blend.
Milk thistle (80% silymarin) is a seed extract of Silybum marianum. Silymarin is the standardised group of flavonolignans in it.
Turmeric extract is made from the rhizome of Curcuma longa.
Ceylon cinnamon is from Cinnamomum verum, often called true cinnamon.
Black pepper at 10 mg is from Piper nigrum.
How to read the label
1,200 mg is the total per serving, not the berberine alone. Berberine HCl is 700 mg of that total. 120 capsules divided by 2 capsules per serving gives 60 servings.
Made the right way
Made in India in a GMP-certified facility. 120 vegetarian capsules.
Take as directed on the label. Check with a qualified healthcare professional first if you have a medical condition, take medication, or are pregnant or lactating. Food supplement, not a medicine.
