Many supplement packs say "made in a GMP-certified facility". GMP stands for Good Manufacturing Practice, a set of quality rules for how products are made.
What GMP covers
- Clean, controlled premises and equipment
- Testing of incoming raw materials
- Written procedures for every step of production
- Batch records, so each pack can be traced back to how it was made
- Trained staff and quality checks before release
What GMP does not mean
GMP certification is about how a product is made consistently. It is not a statement about what a product does, and it is not a government approval of the product itself.
Facility vs brand
Many brands, including Zespo, work with specialist manufacturers. "GMP-certified facility" means the factory making the product holds the certification.
