Pomegranate (Punica granatum), or anar, has been grown in India, Iran and the Mediterranean for thousands of years. Maharashtra is today one of the largest pomegranate-growing regions in the world.
More than the juice
Pomegranate extracts are often made from the whole fruit including the peel and membranes, which contain compounds that juice alone has much less of.
Punicalagins and ellagic acid
Pomegranate naturally contains punicalagins, large polyphenols found mostly in the peel, which break down into ellagic acid. Extracts are often standardised to a percentage of one of these, so check which the label states.

- How many capsules make one serving and how many servings are in the pack
